Salesianos de Manique needed a modern, stable and easy-to-manage Wi-Fi network to support digital learning, access to online platforms and the daily work of teachers, students and the administrative team. With the Cisco Meraki solution implemented by ORBCOM, the school can now support more than 60GB of daily traffic and around 500 connected clients per day, with greater visibility over the environment and full control of the network infrastructure.

Challenge: modernising an outdated Wi-Fi network that was hard to manage

Before the project, the Wi-Fi network at Salesianos de Manique was based on infrastructure that was over ten years old and no longer able to meet the growing number of devices and the intensive use of digital resources. Some areas experienced slow or unstable connections, which affected classes, online exams and the work of the administrative team. The lack of a central management console made it difficult to identify issues and meant that applying changes across all devices was time-consuming.

Orbcom designed a new wireless infrastructure based on Cisco Meraki, replacing legacy equipment with cloud-managed access points distributed across the school campus. Using a central management console, the IT team can configure and monitor the entire Wi-Fi environment with greater control and performance, supported by consistent policies and detailed visibility.

The solution was sized to support high traffic volumes and high user density, ensuring more than 60GB of daily traffic and an average of around 500 clients connected per day. Real-time monitoring makes it possible to track performance, service quality and connectivity issues proactively — improving the experience for students, teachers and staff.
